The round one is the sociable one. Nobody sits at the head of a circle, so conversation goes across the table instead of along it, and at 40.2 inches across it pulls a group of four or five in close without anyone shouting. It also sits lower than the rectangular table at 12.2 inches, which puts the flame nicely below eye level when you are in a lounge chair.
At 126 lbs it is the lightest table in the range, though still a two-person lift. The single round griddle is 19.9 inches across, one large cooking surface rather than two plates, which suits a shared pan of vegetables better than it suits four separate steaks.
Honest note on fit: if your seating is a long sectional against a wall, buy the rectangular instead. Round tables and straight sofas leave awkward dead corners.
Owners of Outer's concrete fire pit range consistently praise two things: how fast it produces real heat, and how simple it is to start and stop. One owner describes lighting it as part of a morning routine on the back patio, warming their feet while the dogs run around.
Several specifically mention that the propane tank cover doubles as a useful side table. In a hands-on review, Men's Journal highlighted the gradual ignition for easing gas in rather than lighting with a sudden burst.
The recurring wish is for an all-weather cover, sold separately.
Outer designs for furniture that stays outside all year, which is a harder brief than furniture you pack away each fall. This fire pit carries a 3 year limited warranty and you get product specialists rather than a general call center. On a purchase you will keep for a decade, the support and the warranty are most of what removes the risk.
You are hosting, the food needs to go on, and normally that means you disappear to a grill in the corner while everyone else keeps talking. Not with the cooking set. The round cast iron griddle drops onto its stand over the burner, the splatter guard shields the concrete from grease, and you cook right in the middle of the circle. Because the surface is one continuous 19.9 inch round rather than two separate plates, it suits things you cook together: peppers, onions, shrimp, smash burgers side by side. The griddle also throws heat outward, so the people not cooking stay warm. Outer only approves this table for cooking with its own griddle and stand accessories, which are included here.
Round wins on conversation and on tight or square spaces, and it is the cheaper and lighter of the two at 126 lbs against 165 lbs. Rectangular wins when your seating runs in a line, when you want two independent cooking plates instead of one, or when you simply have the room to fill. Heat output is identical at 55,000 BTU, so this is a question about your layout rather than your climate. If you are unsure, measure your seating and leave roughly 18 inches between the table edge and the front of each seat.
Outdoors only, on a flat, stable surface, installed by a qualified service professional. Keep at least 4 feet from any building structure, plants, or combustible material, and leave 6 feet of clear air above with no overhang or branches. Concrete or slate is ideal, a wooden deck is acceptable, dirt and grass are not. The table breathes through vents along its bottom edge, so keep the sides clear. Check your local fire code and HOA rules before ordering.

The concrete body asks very little of you. Wet the dirty area with warm soapy water using a soft sponge, leave it a couple of minutes, then wipe clean. Carbon marks on the ceramic spheres are a normal part of burning propane and can be brushed, vacuumed, or rinsed away. Let the cast iron griddle cool completely, wash it in warm soapy water, and dry it properly rather than leaving it to drip, since cast iron rusts. A thin film of cooking oil keeps its seasoning. The splatter guard is dishwasher safe.
