This is the entry point into the concrete range, and I am not going to dress that up: it is the same table as the cooking set, minus the griddles, stands, and splatter guard. Same 51.7 inch body, same 55,000 BTU burner, same ceramic spheres, same electronic ignition.
What you are buying is the fire and the surface. Cover on, it is a low coffee table you can put a tray of drinks on. Cover off, it is a long trough of flame that a sofa can sit alongside. For a lot of people that is the whole job, and paying for cast iron they will never fit is money better spent on seating.
Honest note on fit: if you already know you want to cook on it, buy the cooking set now. Retrofitting the accessories later costs more than bundling them.
Owners of Outer's concrete fire pit range consistently mention two things: how quickly it delivers usable heat, and how easy it is to start and shut off. One owner describes lighting it as part of a morning routine on the back patio, warming their feet while the dogs run around.
Build quality and responsive after-sales support come up repeatedly. Men's Journal, reviewing the concrete table hands-on, highlighted the soft ignition for easing gas in gradually rather than lighting with a sudden burst.
The recurring wish is for an all-weather cover, which is sold separately.
Outer designs for furniture that stays outside permanently and sells direct, so questions go to product specialists rather than a scripted call center. The fire pit carries a 3 year limited warranty. On a piece you will keep on the patio for a decade, that warranty and that support are most of what makes the spend feel safe.
The table is identical. What the Cooking Set adds is two reversible cast iron griddles, the stands they sit on, and a splatter guard to keep grease off the concrete. That is it. If you want the fire pit purely as a heat source and a low table, this configuration is the right buy and you will not be missing anything structural. If you think you might want to cook on it, buy the Cooking Set up front, because the accessories are only approved as Outer parts and adding them afterwards works out more expensive. We would rather you spent the difference on better seating than on griddles you never fit.
Choose propane if there is no gas line running to your patio, or if you might want to reposition the table later. It runs on a standard 20 lb LPG cylinder available from any hardware store. The tank is not included, and it will sit in view unless you add a tank cover. Choose natural gas if your outdoor space already has a connection and you would rather never think about refuelling. The two are built as separate configurations and are not interchangeable, so a natural gas table cannot be run on propane. Ask before ordering if you are unsure what your space supports.
Outdoors only, on a flat, stable surface, and installed by a qualified service professional. Keep at least 4 feet between the table and any building structure, plants, or combustible material, and leave 6 feet of clear air above it with no overhang or tree branches. A concrete or slate patio is the ideal base. A wooden deck is acceptable, dirt and grass are not. The unit pulls air in through vents along its bottom edge, so do not push anything flush against the sides. Check your local fire code and any HOA rules before ordering, since deck restrictions vary.

The concrete body needs very little attention. Wet the dirty section with warm soapy water using a soft sponge, let the solution sit for a couple of minutes, then wipe it clean. Minor carbon marks on the ceramic spheres are a natural result of combustion and part of how the set ages. If deposits build up, brush or vacuum them away, or rinse the spheres with water. Store the burner cover somewhere dry when it is not in use.
