Sintered stone is the reason to buy this one over the concrete. Run your hand across the top and it feels like polished stone because it essentially is, fired at high heat into a slab that will not etch, scratch, or scorch. I have set a hot griddle straight down on one to see what happened. Nothing happened.
It is also the one I recommend to people with uneven patios. There is an adjustable foot at each corner, so you can level it on old flags or a settled deck without shimming it with bits of tile.
Honest note on fit: at 172 lbs this is the heaviest table in the range, and the rectangular footprint wants a sofa or a run of chairs along its length. In a small square courtyard it will feel like furniture that arrived for a different house.
Owners of Outer's OuterStone range describe it as the spot they now default to, in most weather. Two themes come up again and again: how easy it is to light, and how well the surface has held its looks over multiple seasons outdoors.
One long-term Outer customer in Alabama, who had put off buying a fire pit for years, reports the full cooking kit earns its place when they entertain. Another notes that in a high-wind spot the buckle-down covers matter, which is worth knowing if your patio is exposed.
Feedback on this exact configuration is still limited, so treat it as range-level rather than SKU-level.
Outer sells direct and designs for furniture that lives outdoors permanently, which is a different engineering problem than furniture that gets put away. The fire pit carries a 3 year limited warranty and you deal with product specialists rather than a general call center. On a five-figure patio build, that support is what protects the rest of the investment.
This is the part most fire tables cannot do. You are hosting, the food needs to go on, and the usual outcome is that you vanish to a grill in the corner while the party carries on without you. Instead, the reversible cast iron griddles sit on stands over the burner and you cook in the middle of the circle. Guests turn their own food. The griddles push heat sideways as they work, so the people who are not cooking get warmer, not colder. Worth stating plainly: Outer only approves this table for cooking with its own griddle and stand accessories, and those are included here.
Both are excellent, and we will happily talk you out of the more expensive one. Concrete (GFRC) is lighter, has a softer architectural look, and costs meaningfully less. OuterStone is sintered stone: harder, non-porous, marbled rather than matte, and genuinely immune to scorching and staining. If your table will mostly hold drinks and take the odd rain shower, concrete is plenty. If you will cook on it often, put wine glasses down without coasters, or you simply want the material that will look identical in year eight, the stone is worth the difference.
Outdoors only, on a flat, stable surface, installed by a qualified service professional. Keep at least 4 feet between the table and any building structure, plants, or combustible material, and leave 6 feet of clear air above with no overhang or branches. Concrete or slate is the ideal base. A wooden deck is acceptable, dirt and grass are not. The unit draws air through vents along its bottom edge, so leave the sides clear. Check your local fire code and any HOA rules before ordering, since deck rules vary.

Easier than the concrete, which is part of the appeal. For everyday cleaning, wipe the stone with a damp cloth. For stains, use a soft sponge or lint-free rag with mild detergent and warm water, then rinse the detergent off properly. Let it dry fully before you cover it. Soot on the ceramic spheres is normal and rinses off with water. Cool the cast iron griddle completely, wash with warm soapy water, dry it straight away, then wipe a thin film of cooking oil over the surface to protect the seasoning.
