If you are going to cook on a fire table regularly, this is the one to buy. Sintered stone does not care about heat, oil, or acid, so the thing that would slowly ruin a lesser surface simply does not register here. I have put a hot griddle straight onto the stone to test it. No mark.
Note that the OuterStone cooking set does not include a splatter guard, where the concrete version does. That is not an oversight. The stone does not need protecting the way concrete does, so you clean it with a cloth instead of shielding it in the first place.
Honest note on fit: at 172 lbs and 52 inches long, this is the biggest and heaviest table in the range. It needs two people, a clear route, and seating that runs along its length.
Owners of Outer's OuterStone range consistently mention how easily it lights and how well the surface has aged through full seasons left outside.
One long-term Outer owner in Alabama describes the cooking kit as genuinely useful when entertaining, and cites Outer's service as the reason they bought over local retailers. Another, on a windy patio, flags that the buckle-down covers are what make it practical there.
Feedback on this exact configuration remains limited, so treat these as range-level themes rather than SKU-specific verdicts.
Outer engineers for furniture that stays outside permanently, which is a genuinely harder problem than furniture you store each winter. They sell direct, back the fire pit with a 3 year limited warranty, and route questions to product specialists. On a purchase at this level, that support is the part that protects everything else on the patio.
The scenario is familiar. You are hosting, the food needs cooking, and you end up marooned at a grill in the corner while the evening carries on without you. With the griddles fitted, the burner becomes the cooking surface and you stay in the conversation. Guests turn their own food. Two independent plates means peppers and halloumi on one while burgers run on the other. The griddles also redirect heat sideways, so the people not cooking end up warmer rather than pushed out of the heat. Outer only approves this table for cooking with its own griddle and stand accessories, and those are exactly what this set includes.
A fair question, since the concrete version does. The splatter guard exists to keep grease off porous concrete, where a bad spill can leave a shadow. OuterStone is sintered stone, non-porous, and free of resins or sealants, so oil sits on the surface instead of soaking into it and comes off with a damp cloth. If you would still prefer one for peace of mind, ask us and we will check current availability as a separate accessory. We are not going to pretend an omission is a feature: it is a difference, and this is the reason for it.
Choose propane if there is no gas line to your patio, or if you may want to move the table later. It runs on a standard 20 lb LPG cylinder from any hardware store, though the tank is not included and will be visible unless you add a tank cover. Choose natural gas if your outdoor space already has a connection and you would rather never refuel anything. The two are separate configurations and are not interchangeable, so a natural gas table cannot run on propane. If you are unsure which your space supports, ask before you order.

Outdoors only, on a flat, stable surface, installed by a qualified service professional. Keep at least 4 feet from any building structure, plants, or combustible material, and leave 6 feet of clear air above with no overhang or branches. Concrete or slate is the ideal base, a wooden deck is acceptable, dirt and grass are not. The unit breathes through vents along its bottom edge, so keep the sides clear. Check your local fire code and HOA rules before ordering.
Wipe the stone with a damp cloth for everyday dust. For marks, use a soft sponge or lint-free rag with mild detergent and warm water, rinse the detergent off properly, and let the surface dry fully before covering. Soot on the ceramic spheres is normal and rinses away. Cool the cast iron griddles completely, wash in warm soapy water, dry immediately rather than letting them drip, and finish with a thin film of cooking oil to hold the seasoning.
